Art Class with Nicholas Palmer

Nicholas Palmer is a local abstract and mixed media artist. He started drawing with pen and ink over 40 years ago and spent his spare time developing his skills through using books, magazines, videos and  attending workshops. The majority of these drawings are abstract or fantasy in nature and monochrome.

About seven years ago he started incorporating colour into his work and then started painting using water colours, gouache and acrylics. The main influence on his work is the natural world particularly rock formations and the environment. Abstract art has become a passion for Nicholas and he has had a lot of fun working on a variety of acrylic pours.

The workshops will explore abstract art and mark making. These sessions will help the attendees to see and react to things in a different way. Everyone will be able to develop their knowledge and skills in using new materials and tools. Then they can start their own projects with help and guidance.

These sessions are suitable for anyone who wishes to explore another form of art irrespective of their skill level. Protective clothing is a must as some of these techniques can be messy.

Held on Tuesdays from 10:00 – 12:00 starting on 23^rd April

Price  £ 10.00 for each session. Some materials will be provided at the first session and everything else will be available in the shop.
