Dairy Studio Art Courses

Dairy Studio is situated on the outskirts of Lewes at Old Malling Farm. Built in 1951, it was a farm dairy for thirty years. After receiving defra and escc funding it was renovated into a well lit, spacious studio and opened in September 2004.

Susie graduated from Central St Martins School of Art in London in 1988 with a BA hons; and later got an MA from the University of Brighton. She is a fully qualified teacher (PGCE) and ran the Part time Foundation Art & Design for 6 years in a local art college where she worked for 12 years. She has been painting ever since and has shown her work extensively, both locally and in London.

Her recent paintings are based on movement and light: images of children running out from school, swimming or playing tennis. All her work has strong roots in drawing from observation. She believes that drawing is the basis of painting and is exploring the point where drawing and painting meet.
