The Tavistock Group of Artists Tavistock, Devon The Tavistock Group of Artists was formed in 1953 by Tavistock Grammar School Art Mistress Norna Beadle and Senior Mistress Margery Nicol. The first exhibitions were held in the Council Chamber and Grenofen Barn. The aim of the group is to stimulate interest in art, to provide facilities for pursuing this interest, both practical and theoretical at all levels from amateur to professional. Membership is open to all artists and leisure painters living within a 20 mile radius of Tavistock. |
